Cheyenne’s Emma Ferguson was inducted into the AAUW Girls’ Hall of Fame on Sunday. Emma was nominated by band teacher, JoeLee Mills, and Gateway to Technology teacher, Jill Sullins, for her hardwork, preparedness, and natural leadership ability.
March is Women’s History Month. At the March 5 reception, the Edmond American Association of University Women (AAUW) honored 6 girls – one from each Middle School. The girls were recognized for their contributions and leadership in school and the community.
The Edmond AAUW began this tradition in 2016. They hope to continue presenting these awards every year, creating the Edmond AAUW Girls’ Hall of Fame. During the month of March, the display case in the lobby of the Edmond Public Library, will house pictures and posters the girls have created depicting their leadership qualities.
