We are so excited about Cheyenne’s annual Walk to Remember coming up on Friday, May 10th. This is our school’s spring fundraiser and we give a portion of the funds raised to the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
The Cheyenne PTO works closely with the electives teachers to honor the lives of those lost on April 19, 1995, by participating in a walk to the OKC bombing memorial at Mitch Park. The students hear from a guest speaker who focuses on hope, community, and the Oklahoma standard. After the speaker, the students walk back to Cheyenne and celebrate with an outdoor carnival of games, inflatables, concession items, and new this year a DJ! This all takes place by grade during the electives hours.
All donations over $20 get the student an “All You Can Play” wristband for the carnival on Friday. Wristband includes a snack and a drink from the concession stand, 2 turns on the inflatables, and unlimited FUN at the carnival games hosted by the electives teachers.
Wristbands will be sold during homeroom beginning Monday, May 6 – Thursday, May 9. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 homerooms for the highest average donation per student. Wristbands and tickets may also be purchased on Friday at the carnival but will not count towards the homeroom competition. Games and concessions are between 1-2 tickets/each. Tickets are $1/each.
We need volunteers and donations to help make this event a success for the students and the school. Please use the links below to sign up to volunteer for a 2-hour shift or to bring items to help stock the concession stand and support the games for the carnival.
