Books for Sale!

Usually on schedule pick up day Cheyenne has offered students and families opportunities to buy copies of the required reading books; however, this year’s SPUD looked quite different! The latest  “Results from the first phase of the REALM Project conducted by IMLS with OCLC and Battelle to study the viability of COVID-19 on library materials have been released, indicating no viability on a number of types of materials after three days.”  Materials such as books do not carry Covid-19 after three days; unfortunately, there is no research telling us that the same set of books can be used throughout the day. The current recommendation is that books should be left untouched for 24 hours to avoid the spread of disease.  There is no way to quickly and efficiently sanitize books from one hour to the next.
Therefore, we are asking that our families purchase their own books in order to avoid sharing sets of books or trying to distribute and collect books in the case of remote learning. If families have the means to buy their books this year, it would be wise! If they do not have the means, we will gladly provide the student with a copy. Best of Books has partnered with Cheyenne to sell books and then credits our school with a portion of the proceeds so we can purchase additional books.  Please visit the Cheyenne Best of Books order form at
