Walk to Remember Friday, May 13
Dear Cheyenne Families,
We are so excited about being able to reinstate Cheyenne’s Walk to Remember coming up on Friday, May 13th. This is our school’s spring fundraiser and we give a portion of the funds raised to the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
The Cheyenne PTO works closely with the electives teachers to honor the lives of those lost on April 19, 1995 by participating in a walk to the OKC bombing memorial at Mitch Park. The students hear from a guest speaker who focuses on hope, community, and the Oklahoma standard. After the speaker, the students walk back to Cheyenne and celebrate with an outdoor carnival of games, inflatables, concession items, and other activities. This all takes place by grade level during their elective hours.
All donations over $20 get the student an “All You Can Play” wristband for the carnival on Friday. Wristbands include a snack and a drink from the concession stand, unlimited turns on the inflatables, and unlimited FUN at the carnival games hosted by the electives teachers.
Wristbands will be sold during advisory beginning Monday, May 9 – Thursday, May 12. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 homerooms for highest average donation per student. Wristbands and tickets may also be purchased on Friday at the carnival but will not count towards the homeroom competition. Games and concessions are between 1-2 tickets/each. Tickets are $1/each.
We need donations to help make this event a success for the students and the school. Please use the link below to sign up to bring items to help stock the concession stand and support the games for the carnival.
