Dear Cheyenne Families,
We are so excited about Cheyenne’s upcoming Walk to Remember on Friday, May 12th. This is our school’s main fundraiser. These funds will be used to purchase new Riso machines for our workroom, mobile/multi-functional furniture for our learning lab, and school wraps for our building. We also always give a portion of the funds raised to the Oklahoma City National Memorial.
The Cheyenne PTO works closely with the elective teachers to honor the lives of those lost on April 19, 1995 by participating in a walk to the OKC bombing memorial at Mitch Park. The students hear from a guest speaker who focuses on hope, community, and the Oklahoma standard. After the speaker, the students walk back to Cheyenne and celebrate with an outdoor carnival of games, inflatables, concession items, and other activities. This all takes place by grade level during their elective hours.
We are asking for donations of $25. This gets the student an “All You Can Play” wristband for the carnival on Friday. Wristbands include a snack and a drink from the concession stand, inflatables, and FUN at the carnival games hosted by the elective teachers.
Wristbands will be sold during advisory beginning Monday, May 8th – Thursday, May 11th. The grade level that raises the most money will win a popsicle party. Also, the advisory class with the highest average donation per student will receive goodie bags. Wristbands and tickets may also be purchased on Friday at the carnival but will not count toward the homeroom competition. Individual Tickets will be $2/each.
We need donations to help make this event a success for the students and the school. Please use the link below to sign up to bring items to help stock the concession stand and support the games for the carnival.
