Veterans Day was celebrated on Friday, November 8th with a reception for the veterans and their families followed by an assembly with the 8th-grade class. Colonel Otis L. Brown was our special guest speaker. Col. Brown served 30 years in the U.S. Army as a Senior Army Aviator. He served overseas during Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. Cheyenne students and faculty were also honored to meet a WWII veteran, Ed Edmiston. He served in the U.S. Air Force and is the great-grandfather to Cheyenne students, Jackson and Hailey Williams. Thank you to all who served! #ShineYourLight

Cheyenne’s combined 8th-grade U.S. History classes presents A Tribute to America’s Veterans on Friday, Nov. 8th. All veterans from our Cheyenne community are invited to attend, all we ask is that you email logan.day@edmondschools.net before Nov. 4th so we know how many people will be attending. If our students' parents, grandparents, or any other family members are veterans, we would like to honor them by inviting them and one guest member accompanying them to sit in our special reserved VIP section for the presentation, and to be recognized by the students, staff, and the entire Edmond community for their service to this great country. A reception with finger foods and desserts will be held in the library starting at 12:15 PM, followed by an assembly from 1-2 PM. For more information, please read the newsletter.
