Honoring Our Heroes

Cheyenne celebrated Veterans Day on Friday, November 7, with a special reception for veterans and their families, followed by an inspiring assembly with our 8th-grade class.

We were honored to welcome Senator Adam Pugh as our guest speaker. Senator Pugh served nearly eight years in the U.S. Air Force as an Electronic Combat Officer, logging over 2,000 flight hours aboard the E-3 AWACS and coordinating missions across Iraq, the Balkans, Asia, and Eastern Europe.

Students and staff were deeply moved to meet veterans who served in WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

💙 Thank you to all who have served our country — your courage and sacrifice inspire us every day.

8th Grade Students Reflect on the Oklahoma City Bombing

This week, Cheyenne 8th graders took part in meaningful lessons about the Oklahoma City Murrah Building bombing of April 19, 1995. Through activities like Leaving a Legacy, The Survivor Tree, Remembering the Victims , and The Investigation, students explored themes of resilience, hope, and remembrance.

The week concluded with a visit to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, where students experienced the story of that day and its lasting impact on our state and nation. 💛
